We all have certainly faced this, I mean you sit in front of your Windows desktop, turn on the machine, type in the password, and bang! You realize the password is wrong, or you have forgotten it.
You scramble through your memory and discover new password combinations to try out your luck, but none of them seem to work.
Here’s how to fix this.

How to Reset Your Windows 10 Password?

Fortunately, there are solutions and certain tweaks which are mostly the same for all the Windows OS versions, with slightest differences. The more advanced the OS turns, the easier it becomes to deal with the upheaval in actual practice.
Here we are about to lay forth three ways or rather software usage explanation which will most certainly aid you to get back your most essential credential – your password.

Reset Password with Offline NT Password and Edit Registry Tool

Offline NT password in conjunction with Edit Registry Tool is very much of famous tool combination to reset Windows password and so we prefer it here too. It is also commonly known as chntpw and is widely popular for resetting all types of Windows account passwords.
Get a spare PC and download the tool and install it carefully to avoid as many technical glitches as possible later on. Burn the extracted ISO image in the file you downloaded into a disk and you will have your own prepared bootable disk. ðŸ˜‰
Interject the disk into the locked-down computer and prioritize the inserted device in the BIOS utility setup.  A screen would appear which look like this after the software is loaded.
offline NT Password and Registry Editor
Choose the disk comprising the OS installed file by pressing 1, then hit “Enter”.
Press 1 again to pinpoint the registry which is going to load here followed by hitting “Enter”. The moment the main screen emerges, hit 1 to proceed without interruption.
Here now, select the user account which is currently locked and press 1 and hit “Enter” again. ðŸ˜‰
Now last but not the least, press 1 more time to clear the already existing password which you have forgotten, unfortunately, and then “q” to close the program schedule.
Next type the “y” key to bring about all the necessary password security changes and reboot your computer. When it turns on, you shall find no password inquiry, and you can set up a new password if you want.
The overall conclusion to this tool is ok, but it is quite confusing beginners as it is a completely text-based program. ðŸ˜€

Reset Password with Super Administrator Account

Many of you may not have heard about this account called Super admin account. This account is primarily created by default when you install Windows on your PC in the beginning after the purchase in addition to the admin accounts you generate later on. But the account is usually kept hidden to avoid manipulative discrepancies.
So first we would activate it. In order to do that, power on your locked machine and wait for the lock screen to appear. Press “Shift key” 5 times incessantly as soon as the lock screen comes to sight and the super admin account icon is displayed in front of you.
Sign in to the account and select “Manage” option when right click on “This PC” icon.
Locate “Local Users & Groups” on the left sidebar and then “Users” just under the same option. Again right click and if you see the “Set Password” option, click on it.

Set a new password and sign out from this account. Reboot your system and enter it using the new password you just created.
But if you have not enabled this particular account before the account locked problem actually arouse, then this technique will fail to give you any expected output.

Connected to WiFi But No Internet in Windows 10 (Quick Fix)

Connected to WiFi But No Internet in Windows 10 (Quick Fix)

Are you connected to the WiFi but still you got no internet?
Here’s the ultimate guide to fix all internet connectivity issues in Windows 10. Say, you’re connected to WiFi but no internet in Windows 10.
This fix is for all the major issues including “No Internet, Secured” WiFi error in Windows 10. I recently bought a laptop which runs Windows 10, and I had this issue, and here’s how I fixed it.
Now, this is most probably because your internet adapter is having issues. Trying the network troubleshooter might help or might just show some random errors. But this can be easily fixed by a few number of CMD commands. ðŸ˜›

Connected to WiFI but No Internet in Windows 10

If you are connected to the WiFi network and your internet is working on other devices, but not on your Windows 10 PC. This is probably a misconfigured IP issue or an adapter problem which can be fixed.
The most common message that appears is the “No Internet, Secured” error which is an easy fix to do. ðŸ˜‰

Fix “No Internet, Secured” WiFi Error

If you ever see this error on your PC while you’re connected to the internet but still unable to access, these are some ways you can try to fix the issue. Don’t worry, it’s a common issue and is super easy to fix.
Solution 1: Restarting your Router
Restart Router, How to reboot router, reboot your router
Now, this is the first solution which helped many according to a Quora discussion. The processor goes like this.
  1. Forget your WiFi network in the system tray.
  2. Turn on Airplane mode.
  3. Restart your router.
  4. Restart your PC.
  5. Reconnect to your WiFi network again by putting the password.
This is a quick solution which might help but it isn’t guaranteed. But there’s nothing to worry about, I got some other awesome ways which should help no matter what. ðŸ˜€
Restarting your router can have a few advantages like decreasing your ping which is a great way to have a more stable connection and avoid timeouts.

Solution 2: Command Prompt (Preferred)
No Internet, Secured error, No Internet, Secure Windows 10, Fix Windows 10 Connection problems, reset IP using CMD, Reset network with CMD commands
You can reset your IP configuration as well as your adapter which must help. For me, the solution 1 failed but this Command Prompt trick did the work.
  1. Open Command Prompt as admin.
  2. Use the commands listed below one by one.
  3. Restart your PC.
These are the following commands you need to use one-by-one:
  • netsh int ip reset
  • netsh winsock reset all
  • netsh int tcp reset all
  • netsh int ipv4 reset all
  • netsh int ipv6 reset all
  • netsh int httpstunnel reset all
  • ipconfig /flushdns
I recommend the Command Prompt method which is quick and much easier. It’s as simple as opening CMD and pasting the commands one by one and restarting your PC, that’s it! ðŸ˜‰

Solution 3: Changing Adapter Settings
Uncheck IPv6, Disable IPv6

According to my friend who is using Windows 10, fixed the “No Internet, Secured” error using this fix. It’s just disabling the IPv6 from the ‘Change Adapter Settings‘ in Network and Sharing Center.
  1. Go to Network and Sharing Center.
  2. Click on ‘Change Adapter Settings‘ on the sidebar.
  3. Right click on your WiFi adapter and click on Properties.
  4. Then uncheck IPv6 from the list of protocols.
You can see the image above which tells what to do exactly. Your adapter might not have all the protocols, which is totally normal. Just make sure, you disable the IPv6 from the list. ðŸ˜‰

Conclusion

These three solutions will help you with the “No Internet, Secured” WiFi error in Windows 10. Even after being connected to the internet, you might not be able to access it just because of some IP configuration issues or even an adapter issues.
But as you can see, it’s pretty simple. I love recommending the solution 2 which works all the time, no matter what. This works for Windows 7 as well.
This fix works for all the Windows 10 connection issues such as being connected to WiFi but no internet. ðŸ˜‰

How to Find any Wi-Fi Password on Windows (Easy Guide)

How to Find any Wi-Fi Password on Windows (Easy Guide)

A few weeks ago, I was away from the city and went to my cousin’s place for a week. My cousin connected my laptop to his wireless network which I bought 3 months ago.

I realized at midnight that my phone wasn’t connected to the network. I too forgot to ask for the password, and now I badly needed it to watch some videos while laying down in the bed. Well, I remembered one nifty trick to find the Wi-Fi password using the command prompt. ðŸ˜›
So, here’s how to find Wi-Fi password on Windows using CMD. Just know, this is not hacking someone else’s Wi-Fi network and is more like, recovering your lost password which is stored by Windows.

How to Find Wi-Fi Password on Windows

These are the steps which you need to follow carefully if you want to retrieve the password. It is very simple to find passwords using commands which I’m going to list below. You just need to use them accordingly, so you can know the password to your connected or known network.
I’m saying again, this is not for hacking Wi-Fi networks, it’s just retrieving your lost password using Command Prompt in Windows. Remember, I’m using Windows 10 but it’s the same for all Windows versions. For Windows 7, it’s much easier. And if you’re using Windows 8 or 8.1 it’s the same as in Windows 10. ðŸ˜€

How to Find Passwords for Wi-Fi networks You Connected Previously

Windows store even the passwords of previously join or known Wi-Fi networks. In Windows 7 or earlier versions, you need to find the stored wireless profiles from Network and Sharing Center.
But in Windows 8 or Windows 10, you’ll have to use the Command Prompt.
Find Passwords for known Networks in Windows 7 or Earlier
To start, go to Network and Sharing Center, and click on the “Manage wireless networks” options in the left sidebar.
manage wireless networks in windows 7
Once you go there, you will find the list of the networks you have connected to previously.
To find the password, double-click on the network name to open its properties.
Wireless Network List in windows 7
In the network properties window, go the to Security tab and make sure to check the box next to “Show characters”. This will show you the password of the network in the “Network security key” field. ðŸ˜‰

In Windows 10 and 8, you need to use commands to retrieve any old passwords. Right click on the Start button and select “Command Prompt” as admin to access it faster.

Then type the following command:
netsh wlan show profiles
You’ll get a list of all the Wi-Fi networks you have joined through the computer.
netsh wlan profiles, wireless network profiles windows 10
Now to find the password of one of the network profiles, type the following command. Make sure to replace profilename with the name of the profile.
netsh wlan show profile name=profilename key=clear
You need to find the “Key Content” line which is the password of the network.
wlan profile details windows 10
There you go, you know have the password to the Wi-Fi network you are connected. The profile will be saved, no matter what. This is great for finding passwords for networks which you joined earlier and need the password later. ðŸ˜€
Find Current Wi-Fi Network’s Password in Windows
If you lost the password of your current Wi-Fi network – the one you are connected to. Then, it’s very simple and easy to find that password. All you need to do is follow the baby-steps.

Windows will store the password which can be found relatively easily. Firstly, you need to right-click on the little WiFi icon in the taskbar, and click on “Open Network and Sharing Center”.
open network and sharing center
Now click on the name of the Wi-Fi network you’re connected to. My network’s SSID is AtomicFrags.
connected to wifi windows 10, network and sharing center wireless networks
Same as before, click on the Wireless Properties. Then move to the Security tab and check the box next to “Show Characters”.
find wireless password of connected network in windows
You can see where to click exactly followed by the numbers “1 and 2”. It’s very simple and easy as you can see. Takes no longer than 30 seconds in my opinion. So, there you go. You have your pass with you! ðŸ˜€

What if all fails? – Reset your router

If you fail to find your password anyhow. Maybe, your password was changed by some family members or anyone, you need to reset your router and connect to the network via the default password by the router manufacturer.
If you’re using a PPPoE connection like I do, you’ll have to take the burden to call your internet service provider for the connection username and password. It will take time to configure the connection and if you want to skip these steps, you can connect your router to a desktop computer and then reset your password.

Conclusion

This is how you can find your Wi-Fi password on any Windows computer easily. I have listed every possible way for each Windows. I personally use Windows 10 and I need to use Command Prompt to find any other Wi-Fi password.
You can also read my “improve Wi-Fi signal using DIY foil” guide which improved my signal strength by 65 percent. Anyway, that’s how you can hack any Wi-Fi password from Windows 10 and 8 and also Windows 7. ðŸ˜‰
